All Lies

Clench the gate that holds you back from me.

Able to peer through, I wait.

As green as ivy, close my eyes,

unnoticed dream.

Still I know that dress,

Her innocence,

Same softened face as I.

All too familiar, grasp my side

with this worthless ring,

your memories, promised vows, all lies.

Conformity and pride,

my blackened way of life.

As you tease the outside world,

and tempt destructive careless minds,

to kill our noble name.

Untainted fingertips extend

the pain your secrets bring,

and lowered eyes don’t weep

for deception lies too deep to cry.

My side, my way of life, this mistaken love, all lies.
